A Strange Stew it Was

A Strange Stew it Was

Sometimes before a post is created, I quickly jot down keywords so as not to miss anything. The words for this post are exceptionally cheerful: Bigos, nduja, chorizo, deadline, cabbage from stuffed cabbage, rescue, tomatoes, pickled, drama, diarrhea.

The situation was such that I had a lot of cabbage left over from cooking stuffed cabbage (blanched), a lot of nduja and a hock of chorizo. So, what would a Pole come up with from such a set: bigos! And such an original one!

I chopped the cabbage, threw it into the pot, both sausages as well, and started cooking. Nduja, as it turned out, is a worthy opponent, after half an hour you could only feel it, and the cabbage took on the form and taste of cardboard (I ate it, so I know).

Tomatoes, which I usually add to bigos, and a bit of pickled cabbage, classic, came to the rescue. This a bit later turned into half a bucket, and the bigos finally got a bearable taste. The bigos turned out to be edible, but quite difficult in its further journey 🙂
