Chicory, with Meatballs, Gorgonzola, Pear, Croutons and What's Not There

I've been looking around the internet and I got a craving for something a bit more French. But since both I and the recipients of my dishes are a bit more Slavic, well, you see what happened 😉 We have here roasted chicory, first thoroughly fried until brown - that's the French (or is it Belgian? ) element.
We also have sturdy meatballs, fatty, salty, made from lentils and eggs, because as we know, it's hard to get full on chicory. To this set, I added a pear, in quarters, gorgonzola, and croutons! The sauce is cheesy, a sort of béchamel with cheese added. The dish, initially intended to be delicate and subtle, turned into something a bit heavy, blunt, but overall good 🙏 It needs some refinement, but it has a chance to enter the canon 🙂
