Sauce from Dried Mushrooms

The sauce from dried mushrooms was a Christmas Eve dish in my family home. Believe it or not, it was served with rice 馃崥 And while it was easy for me to give up rice, the sauce has stayed with me to this day and I introduce it to every new (usually surprised) environment as something obvious 馃檪 The sauce is made from mushrooms, chopped as we like, onions, usually chopped finely, as well as broth and spices, which basically do not need to be chopped.
You can slightly thicken it with flour, you can add a drop of cream, you can sprinkle it with fresh parsley. It's great with pierogi, even Russian ones, pasta, etc. Try it if you have any mushrooms left after the holidays - who knows, maybe next year it will make its way onto the Christmas Eve tables by momentum.
